Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SiteButcher ("SiteButcher", "we", "us") handles information when you use the SiteButcher desktop application and this website. By using SiteButcher you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

SiteButcher is a desktop application for building and managing websites and for connecting them to Google Search Console. The application runs locally on the user's own computer. You can reach us at support@sitebutcher.com.

2. Where your data lives

SiteButcher is a locally installed desktop application. Your projects, content, settings, API keys and connected‑account credentials are stored on your own device, in the application's local data folder. We do not operate a central server that collects or stores your project content or your Google data.

3. Google account data

SiteButcher integrates with Google APIs so you can manage your sites in Google Search Console from inside the application. When you choose to connect a Google account, you are asked to grant specific permissions (OAuth scopes). SiteButcher requests only the access needed to provide its features:

Permissions requested and why

  • Search Console (webmasters) — to add your sites to Search Console, submit sitemaps, read performance data (impressions, clicks, average position) for display in the dashboard, and manage your sites' Search Console settings.
  • Site Verification — to verify that you own a site so it can be added to Search Console.
  • Indexing — to notify Google of new or updated pages so they can be considered for crawling and indexing.
  • Account email (userinfo.email / openid) — to read the email address of the connected account, so the application can show you which account is linked.

How this data is used

Data obtained through these permissions is used only to perform the actions you initiate inside the application — for example, verifying a site, submitting a sitemap, requesting indexing, or showing your Search Console statistics. The data is processed on your device and sent directly between your device and Google's APIs.

How this data is stored

OAuth tokens and the connected account's email are stored locally on your device so the application can act on your behalf without asking you to sign in repeatedly. They are not transmitted to us. You can disconnect an account at any time, which removes its stored tokens.

Limited Use disclosure

SiteButcher's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to others except as necessary to provide the features you request, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.

4. Information this website collects

This website (sitebutcher.com) is an informational site. It does not require you to create an account. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send us (such as your email address and message) and use it only to respond to you.

5. Third‑party services you configure

SiteButcher lets you connect services you choose — for example, hosting servers, domain registrars, content‑generation providers, or Cloudflare — using credentials you supply. Those credentials are stored locally and used only to carry out the actions you request. Your use of those third‑party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share Google user data with third parties except as required to provide a feature you have asked for (communicating with Google's own APIs), to comply with the law, or to protect rights and safety.

7. Data retention & deletion

Because data is stored locally on your device, you control retention. You can delete connected‑account tokens by disconnecting the account in the application, and you can remove all local data by deleting the application's data folder or uninstalling the application. To request deletion of any information you have sent us by email, contact support@sitebutcher.com.

8. Security

Communication with Google and other configured services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Because the application runs on your own machine, keeping your device secure is an important part of protecting your data.

9. Children

SiteButcher is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the application evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@sitebutcher.com.
